May 2019 Events Nwsltr

Summer Reading Events Planned Summer is the perfect time to explore. With the theme “A Universe of Stories,” libraries across the nation are encouraging adults, teens and children to read all summer long. Participants can read any type of printed material or ebook to participate. Participants can register online and track their reading individually or ask a staff member to assist. Extra programs for all ages are planned for the summer months. Youth programs for school -age children will be Monday and Wednesday afternoons at both the Main Library and Younkin Branch Library. Please check the website for details. Preschool storytimes will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Special presentations for teens and adults include programs on black holes, space-related crafts and movie showings of Apollo 11—celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Drake Planetarium will come to the Main Library on July 10 with a show so big it has to be in the library’s garage! Please visit the library’s website for more information.
