Unearth a Story: Summer Reading 2026

The 2026 Summer Reading Program begins on Monday, June 1, and runs through Friday, July 31.

Help us reach our community reading goal of ONE MILLION MINUTES!

Pre-Registration begins on Monday, May 11, on Beanstack, the digital reading tracker. You can sign up on the Beanstack website, or you can download the app from Google Play or the App Store. Once you are logged in, register for the 2026 Summer Reading challenge. Logging minutes begins on June 1. To count for individual and community totals, all minutes must be logged on Beanstack by 11:59PM EST on July 31.

New this year! The reading goal for all ages is 10 hours. All readers will participate in the same challenge on Beanstack.

Completing the 10-hour reading challenge earns a ticket for a prize drawing. Readers can read beyond these goals to earn MORE tickets and MORE chances to win! The challenge also includes activity suggestions, such as visiting other library locations, local parks, and community events to earn more tickets. Please Note: While participants can earn tickets for completing activities and place them into prize drawings, only those who have completed 10 hours of reading will be eligible for prizes.

Our program guide is packed with events and activities for all ages all summer long. You can pick up a calendar at any library location or view our online calendar. To start digging into your summer of reading and fun, you won't want to miss the Summer Reading Kickoff Party at Main Library on Monday, June 1, at 5PM.

We can't wait to Unearth a Story with you this summer!
