June Activities at the Pickaway County Library

Summer reading registration is underway, but you can register into July. Young adults and adults can sign up for a summer reading program that will award prizes, just like the children can! Prizes may include food, coupons or gift cards! Check with the Main Library, the Younkin Branch, Bookmobile or Storytime On Wheels for details!

 

The Main Library and the Younkin Branch are closed on Sundays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

 

Here are the events coming up at the Pickaway County District Public Library in June:

 

6-1-12: Summer Reading Programs in full swing for all ages – “Dream Big – Read @ Your Library” (Runs through July); Main Library, Younkin Branch, Bookmobile or Storytime On Wheels

6-2-12: Used Book Sale, Main Library Garage, Circleville, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by the Friends of the Library

6-6-12: Summer Reading Presentation, Younkin Branch Library, Ashville, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

6-28-12: Safety and Crime Prevention for Adults taught by Circleville Police Dept., Main Library, Circleville, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

 

Main Library Preschool Storytimes – Mondays at 10:30 a.m. and Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.

 

Younkin Branch Preschool Storytimes – Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

 

Outreach Summer Events:

The Bookmobile, which will visit 48 stops around the county this summer, will allow patrons of all ages to register for prizes at the stops every two weeks. Bookmobile stops will include Williamsport, Darbyville, New Holland, South Bloomfield, Tarlton, Atlanta, Ringgold, Commercial Point, Southern Point, Orient, Clark’s Lake, Five Points, Saltcreek Elementary, Circleville area and many more. Schedules of exact times and locations are available at any library location or at www.pickawaylib.org.

 

Storytime on Wheels programs are for young people in preschool through fifth grade and include programs, prizes and crafts. Storytime On Wheels will visit:

Tarlton United Methodist Church – 10:30 a.m. Mondays, June 4 & 18, July 2 & 16

Commercial Point Men’s Club – 10:45 a.m. Tuesdays, June 5 & 19, July 3 & 17

Five Points Community Building – 10 a.m. Tuesdays, June 12 & 26, July 10 & 24

Williamsport U.M. Church – 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays, June 6 & 20, July 18, Aug. 1

 

Storytime On Wheels also visits six daycare centers.
