The Youth Services Department provides a variety of materials for children from infancy to middle school. There are several programs offered to preschool and school age children including story times, class visits, craft projects, and homework help.

This department processes library cards, fines and lost items, and checks materials in and out. Notices are mailed or patrons are called to let them know when their reserved items are available.

The main objective of the Clerk-Treasurer's office is to oversee the handling of all library fiscal affairs. This includes receiving and depositing all library funds, distributing by check all liabilities incurred, and maintaining all financial records of the library.

This department is responsible for selecting, ordering, and receiving library materials. This department also receives and evaluates materials donated to the library, and selects and orders materials when patrons want to give a monetary donation in memory of family or friends. This department processes all the new items purchased by the library. They create a computerized record for all library materials, which assists patrons and staff in locating items in the library.

This department provides library materials to patrons who are physically unable to come to the library or bookmobile and have no one to pick up materials for them. Materials are selected and checked out by Homebound staff and delivered to the home on a three-week rotation schedule.

Help is available to place holds, find materials, use the automated catalog and to assist with the Internet computers.

Storytime On Wheels presents programs at preschool and public community sites in the county (at schools & daycares attendance is limited to enrollees). Programs involve story reading, with related singing, crafting and other activities. Sessions are primarily intended for children ages 3 to 5.
